Red Light District: Safe Sex

Red Light District: Safe Sex

More pictures from yesterday’s photoshoot.

An idea Shiima originally had based on some other picture he’d seen was just to have a leg draped over his shoulder and kind of the implication of oral sex. I modified the poses a bit and kind of got Mallory more into the shot as well. One of the racier things that I’ve shot, at least recently, but I think it turned out pretty well.

This is fun, it’s not really that racy. You know what’s implied but nothing is shown. I love the chain draped across her leg.

doesn’t look as if he’s spent much time in the neighborhood 😉

    Nice DoF

  5. April 28, 2007 at 7:30 pm

@Kungfukitten: yeah, the chain is actually linked around his wrist and her ankle, but that’s lost in this particular shot. I actally moved it so you could see it across her leg and was wondering if anyone would notice that.

@Lauren Peralta: Thanks, Lauren. You take some of my favorite most sensual shots ever. I even link to you on my website, so I’m especially glad you like it.

@Qathi: Maybe that’s what makes it safe. 🙂 Actually, if he were any lower, it would have been more realistic, but I wouldn’t have been able to really get his face in the shot. I hope you like how it turned out.

@Jack Scoresby: Thanks. I actually took another shot that’s very similar with her as the primary focus and him out of DoF, that I almost posted instead, figuring people prefer the foreground in focus to the background, but then I decided that the dreamy blur was more befitting of her orgasmic expression than stare, and so I went with it this way. I was really hoping that people wouldn’t be put off by that.

    Wow, Mav.

These are seriously hot. Nicely done.

  7. April 28, 2007 at 11:05 pm

@jessi.: thank you. I was going for very sexy and sensual on this one. I guess its up your alley.

  8. April 29, 2007 at 1:48 am

Oh, Mav, I think the picture is great!

@sadandbeautiful (Sarah): Glad you think so. 🙂 That would be one of your specialties.

  12. April 30, 2007 at 11:12 am

Fantastic shot! I love the clarity and the colors and the great black background. So hot. Excellent, excellent work!

Seen next to a fellow photo of Take a class with Dave & Dave. (?)

@evaxebra: thank you. I’m glad you like it. I was using them for a shoot for my tarot project, and they wanted to do something really sexy and I thought this fit the yin yang feel nicely.

What a fun take on the assignment!

Got to admit, I’m jealous of the whole studio/models/pro setup you’ve got going on. 😉

@mivox: Thankyou. The thing with photography is that its never enough. I am always frusterated by not having better lights, more models, more studio space. That kind of thing.

  16. May 2, 2007 at 7:43 pm

Well yes. I get that feeling. After I get a DSLR, my next shopping list will be lenses. Then I’ll want studio space … heheh

    @mivox: just a warning. It’s a gateway drug.

  18. May 3, 2007 at 12:15 am

haha. I suspect as much. I think it’s too late for me though.

  19. May 3, 2007 at 12:24 am

@mivox: no, quit now… Next thing you know, you’ll be buing light meters.

  20. May 3, 2007 at 12:52 am

But as long as I don’t start sharing gray cards or tripods, I’m still practicing safe photography, right?

@mivox: oh… I don’t use gray cards anymore… that’s cheap stuff for the street… its only special designer blue cards for me. The quality stuff.

  22. May 3, 2007 at 1:27 am

    *hangs head*

Well, I don’t even have my DSLR yet. i need to work up my tolerance for the strong stuff yet.

@mivox: I bet you there’s a guy in a back alley off of MLK Blvd who can hook you up. If you can’t pay up right a way, he can probably give you a high end point and shoot for sexual favors.

Hmmm… wonder how fr this analogy can go.

  24. May 3, 2007 at 4:32 pm

Psh, whaddya think I am, a total rookie? I graduated from "point-n-shoot" before they invented digital cameras. Back in da’ DAY …

Then I cleaned up my act and tried to get all respectable for a while, before falling off the wagon a few years ago. I’m just tryin’ to get back in the swing of things again. 😉

nice shot….but if this is for an assignment in Dave and Dave, you should tag it!

  26. May 4, 2007 at 11:52 pm

@SaylaMarz: thank you and it is tagged… cwd163. Has been since before I put it in the pool.

@d.rex: thanks dave. I’m glad the yin yangness of this wasn’t lost on you. 🙂

Can I stroke your ego for a moment on this one?

The second, I understand, but vehemently deny. There are far far far more provacative images around flickr and on every single episode of Days of Our Lives or General Hospital.

This should definitely be flagged moderate, because you and the models have done such a fabulous job capturing the exciting sexual essence of a moment like this. It’s way better than some of the more provocative images of which you speak, even those using less clothing. This one shows everyone that it is possible to be extremely suggestive and grab the imagination while using clothing. We’re grabbed by where clothing might be, um, missing here, OR by how arousing it can be for a couple to explore each other’s clothed bodies….

That knowing look from him, and the utter arousal on her face, indicating where his other hand might be, or where his tongue might have just been…!

Still images can have a power that no video can touch. That’s why I love still photography more.

Now I’m going to fave this, even though that means people might see this among my faves….

  30. September 22, 2007 at 1:05 am

@phlewght: this is why I hate people. You’re probably right. And that’s a shame, because I’m very happy with this one. I mean, really. What the hell?
