Nathan Fillion has apparently signed on to play Nova in Marvel movies, thus becoming the first man in history to be 100% sure that he has caused others to achieve simultaneous orgasms.*
Sure those others are a bunch 40 year old geeks living in their mothers basement who’ve never been laid… But it’s still an accomplishment.
(*Editors note: in actuality, only 95% of Mr. Fillion’s die hard fans achieved climax at this announcement. The other 5% complained that he shouldn’t be wasting his time when he could be making more Firefly)

Interesting. I tend to think of Richard Rider as a “teen hero” figure — probably because he was in New Warriors. What I’ll really be amused by, though, is whether given Marvel’s track record of pulling off movies (crossing fingers on Guardians), whether Nova will become the definitive “space cop” and GL will be considered a bit of a knockoff whenver DC tries to reboot the film again.
I imagine he’s got a few sessions with a personal trainer in his future.
I wanted him to play Green Lantern. He’s playing Marvel’s equivalent. GOOD!
If true, this is cool. Although I was hoping they would have cast him as Hank Pym.
The GotG trailers clearly show the Nova Corps, so going from there to Nova makes a lot of sense, and they can probably skip a lot of the origin story crap.
World building like that is just an awesome idea.
Ok…I’ll say it. Not my first choice for Richard Rider.
I wanted him to play Captain Hammer in a Marvel movie.
I want more Firefly. Hrmph.
