Day 461 of 365 More.

It’s cold. Freezing actually. I guess winter is definitely approaching.

I always find it weird when the seasons start to change. Especially in a place like Pittsburgh. You sort if expect there to be 4 seasons. You expect summer to gradually fade away to fall and then the temperature to drop even more until winter finally arrives.

But it never seems like that happens here. Sure, its definitely not been the peak of summer lately. I put the pool away ages ago. But it was definitely in the 60s a week ago; nice outdoor weather. And now its snowing outside my window. Not a heavy snow. No chance of it sticking. But the change definitely came and it happened overnight.

There’s a metaphor in there about growing older in there somewhere. But I haven’t the heart to deal with it today.

Sending you a warm hug… I even put on MY leather jacket when I went to the store tonight! It’s down to 42 degrees here (maybe going as low as 38)! Of course it’ll be back in the 70’s by Saturday… oh wait, you probably don’t want to hear that, huh? Sorry. Really nice shot though!

@espressoDOM: thank you. I was kind of disappointed at the lack of response to my last shot, and even though this one was kind of dark, I thought it was a bit more inviting.

@lrayholly: yeah yeah yeah… you live in a mutant climate. I know.

Ha, everyone is freezing on Flickr tonight. And I am making the rounds in comments complaining that it’s 10 PM and I had to turn on the air because it was over 80 in my house because it was so fricken hot today. I am not braggin either, I don’t like it. I want some cold and I want it NOW. Stay warm Clyde. XO

Yeah, time to put the sandals away for the year. So sad.

There’s a little phenomena called climate change that makes winters in these parts far milder and less consistent than they were when some of us slogged through lake effect snow storms in mid-autumn. It’s a sure bet that one morning you will wake up and there will be snow. Is that a tie hidden under the lapel? As for leather jackets on the Mississippi coast, that would seem to be more of either a fashion statement, a whimsical preference, or a choice of convenience when the closet reach occurred. It’s 37 degrees in the nation’s capital this morning. Could the seasonal change be approaching?

@PhotoKat: I’d offer to switch with you, but I don’t want to be out there either. The whole state is gonna fall off into the middle of the ocean any day now. That said, at 80, I’d totally have the air on. Green environment be damned… I love me some central air.

@MegaBee: well, I rarely wear sandles anyway. I’m a man, you see. 😛

@DeHoll: I wear leather in the summer. It’s kind of an all purpose material.

    Fuck yo couch.

*grinds muddy sandals into your couch*

@MegaBee: oooh…. I’m gonna tell your mom you’re getting mud on her couches.
