I could crop out that watermark with almost no effort and the picture would still look awesome. So the question becomes is it better to have your pictures out on the web as you post-processed them or how some shumck cropped them to get rid of a watermark? Otoh, I’m not sure most of the reposting of pictures is to claim credit rather than to say "ooo, hot chick, look!"
the idea, in and of itself, is solid. It just is a matter of choice on where you put it. I agree that watermarks ruin images but I think your placement here is great and doesn’t detract at all.
@Princess Diablo: yeah, If someone wants to get rid of the watermark, they certainly could. But I’m expecting most people wouldn’t bother. At least that’s the theory.
