Day 754 of 365 Again.

So, while I was working on tonight’s Cosmic Hellcats (check it out, yadda yadda yadda) I was watching the Republican National Convention.

I love political conventions. You’d think that since I refuse to be a part of either political party I’d hate watching the base pandering of the DNC and RNC. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Seeing as how I sit pretty much way outside of your crazy bipartisan system, I find myself able to comfortably enjoy the spectacles of both parties.

Tonight Sarah Palin had her speech. It’s funny because I’ve got lots of liberal friends in the blogosphere shouting down their interconnected tubes about how horrible she is. The funny thing is, I’m about as liberal as they come on most political stances. Having read up on Ms. Palin the last few days, I think I can safely say that she and I basically don’t share a single political viewpoint of which I am aware. But she gave a great speech. She really did.

It’s funny, because the folly of bipartisan politics is that by pandering to the base you’re essentially preaching to the choir. Most American voters are either staunchly democrats or staunchly republicans. Your votes are already bought and paid for. If you’d all just agree to stay home on election day, we could essentially save the tax payers tons of money. The real people who matter are the undecideds. The independents. People like me. People who the politicians on both sides pretty much ignore.

I really need to get back to blogging. Outside of 365 Days, I mean. This is pretty much a personal journal, but I kinda miss when I used to write all my crazy political and cultural opinions out on my blog. I have a lot of thoughts in mind about both conventions. Maybe tomorrow or the next day I’ll spend some time writing them out and seeing if anyone out there still even cares about my opinion. I’m too tired now, and it’s bedtime.

I will say one thing, just because I heard Howard Stern talking about it this morning and it came up again when I was talking to Steph.

I may not like Sarah Palin’s politics. If she told me the sky was blue, I’d probably have to double check. But I will give her one bit of credit. I hate that people seem to be saying "she has 5 kids, one of whom is special needs. She doesn’t have time to be vice-president." That’s about the most sexist piece of bullshit I’ve ever heard.

She’s a married woman, she’s quite capable. She’s rich (relatively). She can afford all the help in the world, not the least of which is her husband. I find it quite insulting that people think that she should have to choose between having a family and having a career. Even if she may be the antichrist.

Also, yeah, I’d bang her.

    She’s mine.

Actually, tonight’s speech totally destroyed my Sassy Sexcat Sarah fantasy. She’s a strong speaker, but totally not the spitting flame I expected. Much more of a traditional politician.

    She gave a great speech.

And the floor was almost shiny enough for me to see up her skirt.

….But since I couldn’t, I’m gonna have to vote Democrat.

    Did you see Huckabee’s speech?

He told this long, moving, complicated, long story about a schoolteacher who took away all of her students’ desks. Though he never mentioned Kaylee, I was nonetheless proud to be an American.

She is easy on the eye.

I Love this shot…..sooooooooo creative. Don’t ask me about politics though, I’m content to be in denial for now.

    Bridgey I <3 you.

Mav this shot is pretty fucking amazing. I watched the RNC, I missed the DNC which I’m still pretty bummed about and I will admit that she did give a good speech, she’s a good speaker but I disagree on everything she stands for. I’m still young and finally starting to understand how the world of politics work, so I’m really unsure of what label to stick on my forehead. I’m definitely not a rebuplican but I’m not sure I"m a full fledged democrat. I’m sure I’ll figured it out eventually once I’m more learned about politics. Either way I’m still voting Obama. And I’d bang Palin too.

@SaylaMarz: actually, she was much more biting than I thought she’d be. I was expecting her to be an abysmal failure and I think she did great at what they put her out there to do.

@max1975: Yeah, i knew there was something I liked about Huck. I’m glad that in these times as trying as they may be, someone is still out there making sure that Kaylee never gets a desk.

@Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: yeah. I dunno that she’s actually super hot or anything, but she’s certainly the hottest Veep candidate ever.

@lrayholly, @PhotoKat, @voicesbybrian, @Wes Barnes, @☼ Helder and @afunkydamsel: thank you. I’m glad people like the photo as well as the message.

@like_shipwrecks: Yep, you’ll be fine. You’re like smart and stuff. And if there’s going to be a lesbian orgy with the veep I’m going to be invted, dammit. I’ll just stand in the back. No one has to know.
