Even though I was doing the anti-mav thing of using highkey predominantly white photos, I decided it might make sense to do some more normal (for me) chiaroscuros as well. Maybe I’ll juxtapose the images in the final show. Maybe I’ll just go for the white ones. Opinions?

@lalalaa Dolce Vita: personal preference, I guess. Anyway, what are your feelings about the style of the shot?
I like it darker a little better than the high key. More dramatic in feel for me at least. Quite frankly, the symmetry of the pubic hair "stripe" with the similar shape of the tattoo and where her arms are placed, it works aesthetically. Visually pleasing.

@adayinthelife: Thanks. I dunno, I think the lighter ones fit the theme of the show (light) better, but the darker ones are more me (though obviously to create the shadows, I always make heavy use of light anyway). That’s why I think I may do both styles.

@Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: thanks Mikey. It just feels more like what I do, doesn’t it? Though it is nice to switch things up every once in a while. And it more heavily evokes, Nagel and Mukai who are some of my biggest artistic influences.
@d.rex: thanks. Something about the composition on this one feels off to me. I’m not sure what. But I’m glad so many people are liking it.
of the series, I really prefer the high key ones, the lines of her body are so ethereal that it suits her, and the poses are fairy-like, light and beautiful. I think the darkness here, while generally ‘Mav Style’, isn’t as suitable to this model.

does it need to be ‘light pictures’ or ‘pictures about light’? in the second case, this style is as valid an entry as the high key ones. my personal preference is dark. i also like the idea of juxtaposing the same pictures in high key & dark
@wimdejonge: the theme is "Lights" that’s all. So I’m to believe I can interpret it however I want.
