And I am caught up with my tarot cards. I still have a couple I want to redo slightly (moving some pictures to different numbers) but at least I’ve finally gotten through all of the ones that I was backlogged on.

I had a very interesting day. Spent the early afternoon with Steph’s family for her nephew’s birthday. It was full of all the… ummm… interesting conversation that I expect when spending time with my inlaws.
After that we spent the evening at a grown-up birthday party for a friend of mine with further interesting conversation.
It’s all very interesting the path that an encounter can take given the participants. There aren’t just two Americas. There are like 87.

I should make an indy film.
I mean, lets be honest, I don’t really have time to make an indy film, but I would so love to. I actually studied screenwriting in college. I even know how to do it. And up until a few months ago when I decided to start writing a comic strip, I was basically wasting my whole creative writing degree, but now that I’m doing it, I totally love it. I love doing creative stuff, and I’m a total junkie for doing more.
While coloring Monday’s strip tonight, I sat down and watched Kisses and Caroms, and indy film that Amazon recommended to me. I’ve mentioned before that I’m a movie addict, so whenever I hear about a film that’s even half interesting sounding, i just kinda buy it on the theory that sooner or later I’ll want to watch it. So I picked up Kisses and Caroms. The reviews on Amazon kinda panned it, saying it was highly derivative of Kevin Smith. The thing is, I watch a LOT of indy film and 90% of it these days is highly derivative of Kevin Smith. Credit to Vince Rocca (the writer/director) he’s 18 billion times better at ripping off Smith than most people. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So now I have something else to add to the list of things that I need to do with my life. ARRRGHHH!!!! I so don’t have time for this. I can’t get everything I need done now. Sooner or later, I’m really going to have to quit my job. A shame really, I actually kinda like my job, but having to work 8 hours a day is really depriving the world of like 33% of my creative genius, and I think the world deserves better than that.
I’m all giving that way.
In other words, I need your help America. Give me money. Go out and buy a copy of Hellcats. Buy my 365 Book. Hell, just paypal me a grand or two. The world is depending on you, the heroes to support me so I can make it a better place to live in.
Or, on the other hand, if there are any wealthy socialite trophy wives, bored of their rich husbands who want to set me up and be my benefactor/sugarmomma so I can afford to not work and spend my time creating great works of art, I am accepting applications. Oh, and I put out.
And I said, what about Breakfast at Tiffany’s?

Well I guess that’s one thing we’ve got.

I want to change my hair. I’ve actually been thinking about it for a while which is why I’ve let it grow so crazy. I think I want to get braids of some kind. I just can’t decide what.
Sometimes I think I want cornrows. Sometimes I think I want braids. I’m not sure which style of either. Every once in a while I really want to just go all natural and pick it out into a huge 70s afro. Unforunately, I don’t think that would allow me to exist in the day to day working society I have to frequent. Oh to be a full time artist.
Anyway, what do people think? I’m totally open to suggestions here.

Hope works. The Pens won the game. Woohoo! Now the problem is, hope isn’t really my strong suit, so I’m completely wiped. I totally don’t get how you cheerful people do it.
I wrote several of you asking about collaborating for the podcast project. If you haven’t gotten back to me, please do. I even sort of kind of have ideas. I should start doing them tomorrow though.

This is a story of hope. A very short story because I am watching the game.
I’m not a huge hockey fan (not like football), but I do enjoy it. And when I watch, I root for the Pittsburgh Penguins. As I’ve mentioned in previous recent shots, the Pens are currently in the Stanley Cup Finals. And they haven’t been doing well. in a best of 7 series they are down 3 games to 1. Win or go home.
Tonight, they were down 3-2. The fans were singing victory songs in the final minute. Steph and I were on the edge of our seats just hoping and hoping.
With less than 35 seconds of regulation play, 35 seconds away from a world chamipionship, the Detroit Redwings gave up a goal.
At this very moment, we our now in overtime (took this shot during the break).

It was a rare night at home when I wasn’t overwhelmed with working on Cosmic Hellcats so I decided to spend the evening working on my backlog of photoshoots to edit. This is Leia who posed for the Four of Cups in my tarot deck. I took plenty of extra shots of her, so it’s about time I started posting some.

Long long long day. And yet I don’t really have an interesting story. Memorial Day means I got a much needed three day weekend. Celebrated it in the traditional American memorial day celebration technique. I slept in til almost noon. Thank God too, I needed it.
After that, I got things together to do barbecue for a bunch of friends. First BBQ of the year, and it always reminds me, "wow, I really am a great cook." Sometimes, when I don’t have time that often, what with the hustle and bustle of life, I kinda forget that.
People hung out for a while and then left so Steph and I settled in for some quality TV watching. The second game of the Stanley Cup was tonight and, well, moving on…

Well, I guess I’m getting a little better. Now great, but getting there.
Did some more drawing today. I’m still not comfortable to the point where I feel like I can do a whole comic, but maybe I’ll get there.

Spent the day coloring the next episode of Hellcats. It’s not due up til Monday, so I’m ahead of schedule. Woohoo. If I can get Thursday’s episode done tomorrow, I’ll be in really good shape.
After I filmed the 365 Days podcast with Stephen and I tried to figure out what shot to do for today. Steph was watching Law and Order: Criminally Bad Acting. The suspect was a writer. They were looking at his headshot, ad they determined he was an author because of the pic. Why? Because he had his fist under his chin and "all authors do that, it hides the double chin." I thought about it for a moment, and they were actually write. That is totally the classic author pose. So I had my picture for today.
There, I’m a real author now. Now all I have to do is be seduced into a threesome by a homicidal lesbian madame and one of her callgirls and then framed for the murder of the callgirl by said madame and feel so distraught that I hang myself in my cell, after failing to do so twice. God that show is really bad.

So tomorrow is Sarah‘s birthday. Since I’ve been way too busy to edit shots lately, I decided to take some time tonight to finish up the last of the shots from her photoshoot with Starr.
Hopefully she thinks they’re as hot as I do.
