Day 925 of 365 Again.

You know, you’d think on a weekend I’d take my time to do a really cool picture. Not this guy.

Actually I spent half the day cleaning house and then I went shopping. Exciting, huh? Actually, it is just a little exciting, because I finally picked up an 8-port ethernet switch. Oooh! Thrilling, huh? Actually, I’m pretty happy about it. You see, when Steph and I bought this house, we actually ripped all the walls out and put up new ones. While we were doing it, I stung high speed networking cable to all the rooms. That was like 4 years ago. Previously, in order to make this work I had a series of routers strung together and just sitting on top of a chair in the basement. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks finally building a proper wiring cabinet to store all the odds and ends, and today I replaced the two extra routers with this. If this all sounds way to complicated, well, just trust me, it’s a lot less complicated than it was. So yay! 1000 Base-T running to every room in the house. Of course, it doesn’t matter since I still only have DSL. Maybe I’ll get FiOS sometime soon.

And then, maybe I’ll get a rack-mount server.

Enought geekiness. Time for bed.
