Day 855 of 365 Again.
Steph and I went out to a nice Tapas bar to celebrate a friends birthday tonight. Very expensive place to have dinner, but oh so very very very good. I can’t tell whether Steph is being goofy here or is very drunk. Anyone want to take bets?

She is at the very least being goofy. I mean, she can do that sober or drunk.

Just thought of something! Reminds me of the pic of Grandma and Grandpa (in uniform).
I’m going for drunk, there is a special drunken twinkle in her eye…….I think.

The answer: While it is true that I had just drunk a wine flight, I would not consider myself to be drunk (tipsy, sure). As khaughwout rightly said, I am being goofy, and that goofiness is intentional (not an unintentional by-product of being tipsy). But the question is, did my tipsy state cause this goofiness? In other words, if I were not tipsy, would I have still been goofy in this photo? Though I cannot answer this question with 100% confidence, I call into evidence Mav’s 11-25-08 self-portrait, in which I was at least as tipsy, but was not acting goofy (at least not intentionally). So, it is at least possible for me to not act goofy in a pic after having imbibed in alcohol. Though I can’t point to any on flickr, I know for a fact there are pics of me acting similarly goofy stone sober. And though drinking wine does tend to make me happier and sillier, eating delicious tapas (esp the little quail I ate immediately before this pic was taken), and the ensuing discussion of Dick Cheney’s shooting incident added to my happiness. Thus, I can’t say that I wouldn’t have been happy enough to produce the same expression had I been sober. When this pic was taken, I tried to convey my happiness caused by the afore-mentioned factors. So, my answer is that I likely would have acted goofy here without the flight of wine.
