Day 81 of 365 days.

I don’t know what happened to the kids of today. When I was a kid we had TONS of trick or treaters coming to the house on halloween. We’d actually run out of candy sometimes. Past experience these last couple of years taught me that getting that kind of turn-out was unlikely. Plus it was kind of raining today. But still, I figured I’d get a few really devoted kids coming to the house. But three? That’s it. Just three kids! And one of them didn’t even have a costume. It’s almost as though the kids these days don’t want to rot their teeth out.

I weep for the future.

That is seriously sad. I had a good turnout at my house! Though I’ve seen it busier.
I was really pleased with how polite my crowd was tonight…in the past I’ve gotten really annoyed at the grabbing and not saying thank you, but tonight they were almost all sweethearts!

Some costumes were hardly costumes, however, and I made sure to give those kids a good ribbing with their candy. 😉

We finally wound up with about 15 or so kids. I knew it’d be a small turn-out so I only got 2 bags of candy and I was pretty generous. We have just a little bit left.

I didn’t get one trick or treater! I had bought kitkats and Hi-C juice boxes to give out and not one! I even set out the jack-o-lantern in hopes of getting noticed, oh well. I guess that’s what you get living in an apartment complex….

We had okay turnout, but not great, considering it was below freezing and still a bit windy. Had Hallowe’en been yesterday, when it was still in the upper 50s (high of 67) during prime trick-or-treating time, we’d’ve had a lot more kids.

So we have leftovers: Reese’s; Twix; Snickers; M&Ms; Smarties. Yum!

You might’ve noticed we’ve had a big weather change in the last day. We’ll be lucky to break 40 the next few days.

Cool shot — very sharp, good lighting!

    I got none!

I love the black&white for this shot.

We got about 7 or 8 but to be fair I’m pretty sure the kids still want to rot their teeth out and get morbidly obese; they’re just too wussy to go out in a bit of a rain shower to do so.

yeah, i hear ya. our street doesn’t have a lot of kids on it and it’s pretty much removed from other "neighborhoods" due to a shopping center. last year we had 5, the year before we had 3. this year we didn’t even stay around…in the 5 we had last year, i think only 2 of them wore costumes 🙁 i was sad. this year, we put a bowl of "treats" on the front porch and although some were gone, not all was gone. Surprising really, but that’s good…well-behaved children out that didn’t take every last one.
We went trick or treating in the neighborhood next to us and there were LOTS of kids and a lot of houses were decorated which made it more fun than our street anyway.
I like your photo for 31st October 😀

We had some devoted kids, but the rain put a damper on things here, too! I was going to take Parker out, but decided against it when the downpour started at 5:30…..
However, isn’t it better to be able to keep the candy, anyway? Now you have treats for poker night (which I am too broke to attend)!

We had a few kids…we ran out of candy so I started giving out tricks. I would open the door and scream. They would run away. I had fun.

And Mav, I see a glass that is half full…more candy for you!
