Ambriella portrait B&W

Ambriella portrait B&W

I love when i meet a model who is absolutely perfect for a Tarot card idea I have. I was talking to my friend Connie (who posed with her son for the Judgement card) and telling her of my idea for the ten and ace of swords cards. I wanted the cutest, most petite, goth girl I could find holding a broad sword bigger than she was. A minute later, Connie found Ambriella on Model Mayhem (where I’ve gotten several models for this project). I wrote her and she was totally into the idea. Hopefully I’ll get to shoot her again soon.

It’s been a while since I had someone sit for me to shoot who had never modeled for anyone ever before, so in a lot of ways I looked forward to shooting Stu more than anyone else. I was amazed at how comfortable she was with the whole concept.

Spent the day with my friend Cheryl who is visiting from Seattle. Obviously no one can visit me without doing a photoshoot. So this is the first of the shots that I have processed of her. More to come when we’re done hanging out.

Back before I was a bum (errr… starving artist), I used to be a pretty decent user interface (UI) designer. Cheryl was my intern. Over the years she’s become a really good friend. These days, Cheryl lives in Seattle where she designs video games for Nintendo Gameboys (right now she’s doing Shrek 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3). She’s also one of the voices in the game the crazy successful Sims video games (she’s a little easier to understand in real life). So whenever you play a video game, keep in mind that it might not exist were it not for my supremely excellent mentoring skills.

Day 248 of 365 days. Spent the whole day working on my website. That’s right, I’m up and open for business. I still have a lot of other stuff to work on with it, and its not "Internet Explorer 6" compliant yet, but if people want to look at it and let me know what…

Theresa sitting in B&W

Theresa sitting in B&W

Did a photoshoot with Theresa the other day. It was the first time she modeled for me (or anyone) but I think she did great. She’s quite animated and about the friendliest person ever.

The final outfit from the shoot was borrowed from me. Theresa has a very tomboyish look that is adorable and sexy at the same time. So I let her borrow my basketball jersey and a pair of boxers. I think it worked out quite well for her. I’m not giving up on lingerie, but this was a nice switch for a change.

These first four from the set are in the clothes she showed up in. I like to spend sometime talking to each model and just relating and being friendly. It’s the first part of getting natural emotions.

She has a gorgeous smile, but in this shot, I can tell she’s still kind of nervous.

Day 177 of 365 days. I’m still a little sore from yesterday’s wrestling, but I’m healing up nicely. It was nice to be able to sleep in on a Sunday. Basically spent the afternoon working on editing the most recent photoshoot I did (would love to have comments and feedback from other 365ers and fans,…

The other day, I did a photoshoot with the lovely and talented Liz. It was the first time I shot her, but she did a great job and I can’t wait to do it again.

I’ve decided to start posting the photos as I finish them instead of waiting for the entire set to be done.
