Day 889 of 365 Again.
Well, I’m back home. It was a long long day of travelling. We left the hotel at 9am Vegas time and landed in Pittsburgh around 10:30 Pittsburgh time. Another hour to get bags and get home and just totally collapse on the couch.
I’m exhausted, but not sleepy. I don’t sleep much anyway, and being stuck on West Coast time is screwing that up even more. Gonna have to fix that before I go back to work on Monday.
Anyway, I took this in the airport. Some guy was coming in from Chicago and saw that T-Rex we have at PGH International. I heard him call his friend on his cell phone all excited that they had hung a terrible towel on the dinosaur for this weekends game. Turns out the guy is a big Steelers fan and flew in from Chicago just for the game this weekend. He was even more excited once I let him in on the secret. They didn’t put that towel there for the game. No, it’s always there. We also have a statue of Franco Harris standing next to a statue of George Washington.
Pittsburgh is a different kinda town.
He shouldn’t have been surprised. EVERYBODY knows that T-Rex is a big Steelers fan; don’t they?

They will prevail tomorrow because they have that T-Rex on their side.
I work in Station Square, and one of my coworkers told me today they had a guy who flew in from San Diego for the game. Not only that, but he went into the Hometowne Sports store, and dropped over $1100! Steelers fans are a different breed, man.
wait…. is the terrible towel really always there? I know Franco is there….but I thought the T-Rex only got excited about important games.
