Day 874 of 365 Again. I got a call from Canada this afternoon. It was my friend Kingdom James, asking me to be on his internet radio show. You know me, I’m media whore, so of course I did it. Anyway, the theme to his show this week was new years resolutions and Kingdom was…

Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

When Mickey was travelling across country last week for her big move, she and her boyfriend, Jeff, stopped by to do a little photoshoot for the old Tarot deck.

I’ve been looking forward to getting some of the Seven cards done. My theme with the sevens is to use multiple people. I really loved shooting the Lovers and Judgement cards and I was really looking forward to shooting a card with another couple. The interplay you get between two models is always so much more expressive than what you get with one individual alone.

While the other two multiple person cards I did so far were very loving, it was nice to be able to do something antagonistic and moody like this one.

I think they both did a great job.

King of Swords

King of Swords

I always love when i get the chance to work with someone who’s not a model. Most people seem to think that they don’t photograph well. But I think that given the right circumstance and concept, anyone can be great.

Doc is the bouncer at the Tennyson, and had seen some of the other tarot cards and was telling me how much he liked them. I looked at him for a moment and then knew that he’d be great for the King of Swords. He has just the kind of imposing and menacing frame that really suits what I wanted for this card.

The shoot was easy and straightforward and I think turned out exactly right.

Day 356 of 365 days. Sometimes I don’t know what I should wear for a 365 shot. This is your chance to decide with me. All you have to do is take a handy pair of scissors (kids, make sure you use adult supervision) and cut out each outfit and you can dress me however…

Jack of Swords

Jack of Swords

The third completed card in my tarot card series.

Shiima as the Jack of Swords. Commonly called a knight. I decided to rename them to Jacks for the same reason they call them Jacks instead of Knaves on the modern playing card deck. Namely, that K is the same letter for King. I’m still not positive on that. But its growing on me. I’m also of still of the opinion that the lens flare is a bit cheesy, but I think it adds something to the effect. Opinions?
