You know how you love nothing more than hearing me academically talk about comics and sex and gender and cultural theory and stuff? Shut up! You do! Anyway, I was asked to speak at Barnes and Noble’s Grand Reopening and Harry Potter event this Saturday at the Waterfront Barnes and Noble in Pittsburgh. They’re celebrating their new remodeling and addition of a toy and game store, and the the premiere of the new Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald movie and I’ll be talking about… not that… I’m actually giving a presentation that I did for PCA/ACA a couple years ago about Harley Quinn, called “Don’t Ya Wanna Rev Up Your Harley?: Feminine Sexual Power as Agency in Superhero Comics and Cosplay”.
There’s also going to be a bunch of stuff there that is… not me. Apparently: Activities, Games, Cosplay, LEGO building, Special Offers and Giveaways.
But you know… also me.
The whole event starts at 2pm, and I should be going on around 4:30. So if you’re going to be in Pittsburgh, stop by, watch me talk and buy a book or something.
