Day 820 of 365 Again.
I had a thought this evening. I’m always bitching about how the future should be here by now. Where the hell is my flying car?
But then I started thinking about other future stuff that I don’t have yet. Like retinal scan locks on my front door. That would be great. Getting my keys out is such a pain in the ass.
But then I thought, the problem with retinal scan locks is "what if I lose my eye?" It seems all secure and everything, but then I figure, someone who wants to rob me is gonna pluck my eyeball out. And then not only am I going to lose all my stuff, but I won’t be able to get into my house.
So I figured it’d be a good idea to leave a copy of my retina on flickr so if someone steals my eyeball I’d be able to print out a copy.
So please… no one copy this and try to steal my shit. It’s only to use to unlock the mysteries of future-Mav.
PS: It’s really hard to shoot a macro of your own eye.
haha when I post in the middle of the night and live on the west coast….I gotta say I’m pretty impressed when you manage to post from the east coast in the middle of My night!

Did you know there’s a whole sub-speciality of eye photography? They take pictures for surgeons and court cases. Apparently it’s not so much that it’s hard (although macro self-portraiture is), it’s just that you need a set of polarized twin flashes and a 90 degree polarized filter on the lens, and most people don’t think to do that.
A VERY LONG TIME AGO (in the 60’s) we had a magazine in school called "The Weekly Reader". I remember an article that said we would have flying cars by the year 2000. Well, its 2008 and I’m STILL waiting! I’ve been waiting longer than you! When it happens, I’ll be to old to enjoy it.
