Day 722 of 365 More.

The risks of professional wrestling.

This is Shiima. Shiima was my long time partner in wrestling when we first started. Til he became a bastard and I was forced to turn on him.

Anyway, he had a match tonight and got smacked in the head with a steel chair. Have you ever wondered how pro-wrestlers get smacked in the head with steel chairs and don’t get hurt? Here’s the secret. We don’t. It hurts like hell. And on a bad day, something can go wrong.

Shiima got his head busted open, thus necessitating shaving the area so he could get stitched up. In true traditional professional wrestling fashion the rest of us did exactly what you’d expect. We all gathered around and took pictures laughing at him.

Yeah, wrestling is pretty sick sometimes.

See… this is exactly why your mom doesn’t want to watch you wrestle! Seriously tho’… ouch!

@mickeysacks: Thank you for saving me from pointing this out!

Tell Shima that I’m sending him a kiss for his "owie"! Poor baby! I’ll bet his Mom had a fit! I miss all of his hair btw.

Didn’t he need stiches? I don’t see any!

    Enlighten me a bit:

I know you (pl) refer to them as wrestling shows.
I figure this was not a prop chair.

What keeps people from pursuing criminal charges or civil suits in these cases?

That’s one nasty gash looks like a six stitch job for sure.

@mickeysacks: yeah, I know. That said, injuries aren’t THAT common. They do happen though. And that was a particularly nasty looking one.

@lrayholly: well, we told him to. But he decided to go back to West Virginia and go to the hospital there instead of going to a local one, and by the time he got there, it had clotted and was too late for stitches.. *sigh* the young and foolish.

@DeHoll: There is no such thing as prop chair. Getting hit in the head with a chair just basically sucks. Really kinda ruins your day. And just being reasonable keeps us from suing each other. Shiima knew the risks when he stepped into the ring. We all do.

Another reason Shiima shouldn’t have shaved his head!

@beststephi: he actually did say that he thinks this is God’s way of telling him to grow it back.
