Day 578 of 365 More.

So I’m in Florida. Wow that took forever. We left my office at 1 for the airport. TSA was annoying, but not as bad as I thought it would be, given the amount of computer and camera equipment I was carrying with me. Anyway, we had a layover in Charlotte. I hate the Charlotte airport. Back in 2000 I was trapped there for like 10 hours while my plane was delayed before they decided that the storm was not going to pass that night and finally put me up in a hotel room at 1am… on my birthday. So I wasn’t really looking forward to going back. We were supposed to be there for 58 min. But our plane was nearly an hour late taking off. So I sat on the runway, not allowed to use my laptop or my PSP or my ipod and just waited. Finally we got to Charlotte around 5:50pm and they told us that if we were on a plane that was supposed to leave before 6:05pm, the airline would automatically move us to the next flight. Which in our case would have been tomorrow morning.

BULLSHIT!

The only reason I am even coming to Florida was to make a 7:30am meeting tomorrow. So I sprint across the airport and get to the plane at 6:07 to find out that luckily the plane was delayed til 6:08 (it was supposed to leave at 5:58) so I make it there just in time… Just in time to sit on the tarmac for another hour before takeoff because of another delay.

Finally we get to the hotel and spend 20 min. trying to order takeout from Chilis which is 2 blocks from here. Chilis is a bunch of idiots and that just didn’t happen so we ended up getting Chinese which took another 40 min. or so.

On a good note, my hotel room is ginormous. For some reason all three of the people from my company got booked into separate suites. So I have a living room, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and two bedrooms (one with a king and one with a queen).

I spent sometime working on the comic while I waited for the podcast(iTunes) to download, only Photoshop crashed and I lost most of the work. But it was late anyway, and I really needed to get some sleep. But first there was the matter of a 365 shot to take. And since this week’s podcast mini-challenge is "Leap Like Mikey", I knew there was only one thing I could do. So I jumped!

    Extra credit points if you can tell me that you DIDN’T break your neck!

    Sweet! I have a jump shot that is similar to this.

    Hey, if there’s a bed, you must jump on it!

    LOL… quite a story. I’m glad you made your plane.

    And this shot made me laugh.

    I am so glad I managed to convince my 2 coworkers that would should take a direct flight to SFO next week instead of some convoluted connecting flight into Oakland that would have saved us about 15 minutes in cab riding time at the cost of like 3 hours of flying/layover time.

    I was fairly shocked that US Airways will actually fly you direct to California anymore, and not make you go through Charlotte.

    ……I hope you landed well after this leap; It makes my neck hurt just thinking about it!!!! (but then – I’m a klutz – I KNOW how I would have landed, LOL!!)
    I hope your trip went OK….

    @RXAphotos: heh. Thanks. Good luck with it. Just be careful.

    @MegaBee: it wasn’t bad really. I got it on the 4th one, I think.

    @Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: heh.

    @lrayholly: I did not in fact break my neck.

    @Rockin’ Rob: heh. I like yours. Neat how you did it directly over the bed.

    @Stephen Poff: thanks. I’m glad i’m not still stuck in charlotte. That was a possibility.

    @Wooble: yeah, we talked about how next time we may just take the direct flight to jacksonville then rent a car and drive the two hours.

    @pinkgypsysoul: didn’t really have time for fun. But it wasn’t too bad.

    @Babs1696: oh yeah, I’ve always landed it. I can actually do it and land on my feet. I use it in wrestling sometimes.

    @disco~stu: thanks.
