Day 564 of 365 More.

There just aren’t enough hours in the day. Not even close. I did get a lot done at work today, but when i came home I spent the entire evening editing photos and researching my next photo project (which I actually have a really great idea for, and hopefully one people will actually want to pay money for. I even have the four models I need lined up, and they’re all hella excited about it). In addition to that I have a graphic design contract i have been neglecting. I promised to write the foreword to Mickey’s 365 book. I have at least 3 tarot cards to fix and repost as well as two new ones that I’ve shot but not processed yet. I don’t even remember the last time I had a chance to work out. Why can’t I quit smoking? Because nicotine gets me through the fucking day.

And people wonder why I don’t have time to sleep.

Check out this week’s 365 podcast(iTunes) when you get the chance. I’m going to bed.

    Well said.

    well said….apart from the smoking thing….you get you through the day not the nicotine, it just tells you it gets you through the day so you don’t quit! (my apologies I know there is nothing worse than a reformed ex-smoker…..I slap my own wrist for this comment)

    @SaylaMarz: thanks… its a mixture of cigarette smoke and it being really cold outside combined with the long exposure.

    @Shenanigan Kid: thanks.

    @disco~stu: see, I’ve quit smoking before. And I never get like that. And I don’t like that logic. The simple truth is that nicotine is a drug. And like any drug it has an effect, otherwise people wouldn’t bother to do it. So yeah, it does help me cope.

    I agree, there are not enough hours in the day! Especially when you have a two year old!
    My question, how many 365 books will there be out there????
    And next question, are you as tired of this snow as I am? Let’s move to the Carribean!

    I’m a reformed smoker too, and the most profound thing anyone’s said is that cigarettes CAUSED me to feel that way, not cure it. That meant if I could stay away long enough, those feelings would go away.
    Also, anything that isn’t telling you to not smoke, is the voice of addiction. I call it the ‘skull junkie’, because it lives in my head. I have to be its boss, which is a drag. It’s a sneaky fucker- ‘try one, see if you’re still hooked’. ‘It smells good!’, the list goes on.
    Also- ‘you’ll quit when you’re ready’ is a lie. You may never be ready in your mind, but your body is always ready. good luck!

    finally someone else enjoys cigarettes as much as me. Mav, I appreciate this photo. And being as that I just moved from PA and am now living in sunny San Diego, I will say relax in the snow for me, when you get a free second for yourself. 🙂

    So there we were, sitting in our house watching Jericho on TV when both Em and myself notice what appears to be lightning outside. Since we had ‘thundersnow’ just a week ago, we pass it off as just more wacky Pittsburgh weather. After a few more flashes of brilliant light from outside our window, curiosity takes hold and I investigate the matter further. Looking out my door I found the source of the strange lightning. It was the flash of your camera taking the image above. I really love this pic, there was just the right amount of snow on the ground that night, IMHO.

    @sassyshannon999: a lot of people did 365 books on blurb. There’s a thread about it in the forum I think. The weather is annoying, but you kinda get used to it after a while.

    @lalalaa Dolce Vita: I hate when people say that its just the addiction. Yes I am addicted but, its not just that. Nicotine has an effect. And I like that effect. I use it to get through the day. That’s what I’m addicted to. I’ve quit before. I’ll quit again. Just not til I’m ready. Trust me… i know my body.

    @Coreyu: thanks.

    @M.Gruber: thank you.

    @navigator23: heh… I actually wondered if anyone could see that when I was doing it.

    @lrayholly: yeah yeah yeah… its soooo cold down there…

    @honeyrider: thanks.

    I do not plan on quitting smoking any time in the near future. I have cut back (on most days). I have the the life philosophy of "everything in moderation." You did a good job of staying still for 2.5 seconds.

  14. March 11, 2008 at 11:08 am

    @Rachel.::.K: I dunno. I do feel like it’s unhealthy, but so is me snapping and killing everyone in the room. It’s a balancing act I guess. I wish I didn’t have to rely on it so much. But until I can cope on my own…

  15. March 11, 2008 at 11:54 pm

    Oh, I completely agree. I’m just not quitting "any time soon," but hopefully, some day, yes. I have all sorts of tricks to decrease the smoking, which is better than nothing for now.

  16. March 12, 2008 at 2:37 am

    Hrm, I’m going to agree to disagree with you on this one. Addiction is a clever bitch and makes us think we ‘like’ all kinds of stuff that our bodies hate.
