I still hate strobes. I really do. I mean, I guess it works well enough, but I can really tell. This pic just looks a little colder and harder than what I like. Anyway, I got the remote triggers in for my flash today. It seems to misfire on occasion but it works pretty damn well for thirty bucks. It’ll get the job done.
Moving on to other things: Remember when I said I had something to say about triplets a couple weeks ago? Well, I finally got around to writing about it in my blog last night. I think it’s interesting stuff. So head over there and check it out and let me know what you think.

ahh this works for me….but I get what you say about not having the warm tones that the hot lights give….
the reason I really wanna understand strobes better is to try and use them and get the benefit out of my normal setting…..outside and night shots etc…. I think now I’m in the habit of using lamps and stuff in my home environment it will always be hard to get out of that habit.
interesting stuff about the triplets……I think I can understand the idea behind the tattoos and it doesn’t shock me 2 much….I would have gone for more than dots though……maybe the three stooges. heck if your gonna get inked….get inked! LOL

I solved the bluish look to the strobes by shooting in raw and color correcting from there.
@lrayholly: hopefully you get to play with it soon.
@disco~stu: yeah, it definitely gives me a little outside of the studio freedom that I didn’t have before. But it is taking a lot of practice to get the effect I want.
@shockingbird: oh, I do shoot in RAW. And I set the white balance as well, but generally I intentionally white balance my camera to allow for the warmer tones anyway, and that’s just not there with the cooler lights. I can work around it and come up with decent shots, its just not stylistically me. Or at least not the way I usually shoot.
