Day 536 of 365 More.

do do do do do do dooo
do do do do do — do do do do
do do do do do do dooo
do – do do do — do — do — do

do do

Remember a few months ago when Steph and I tried out for Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Well, tonight we tried out for Jeopardy. And we were even able to do it in the comfort of our own home. Jeopardy contestant searches now happen online. Fifty questions. Twelve and and half minute time limit. It’s crazy.

I think I did ok. Of course there’s no way of knowing, unless they happen to call me some day, since they don’t tell you your score. But it was fun. And I have to say, much harder than the Millionaire test.

Like Alex Trebek said. "Millionaire is for pussies!"

Well, he said something like that.

    Is the beer part of your winning strategy?

    good luck! you really look deep in concentration here…fab

    Yeah – the beer helps with the concentration — of course, when you go on the show, you’re gonna have to be discreet with your beer bottle……

    I bet you did quite well on the online audition. If there is a background/lifestyle questionnaire involved, you will certainly be a very interesting potential contestant. Hope you rise to the top of the stack.

    WOOOO. I will come be your Jeopardy groupie.

    Game shows = good and shiny. If anyone ever asks you to be on a reality show, just say no. It would be fun to watch you on Jeopardy.

    @Stephen Poff: Me too. But I’m not holding my breath.

    @Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: if I win? Sure. Gotta share the wealth.

    @macaddict: that could be cool.

    @lrayholly: yep… Beer, the only carbs I need.

    @disco~stu: thank you. I hope it worked.

    @Babs1696: maybe I can take a flash.

    @DeHoll: i think i did ok. I mean it’s still a long shot.

    @spresogna: do game show players get groupies? Really? I would have done this ages ago if I knew that.

    @adayinthelife: why would I say no to a reality show? Like them or not, winning a million dollars for spending a month in the dessert isn’t a bad deal.

    I want your computer.

    I worked on reality shows for about three years, I’ve seen what they can do to the people on the show and what we can do to make the people on the show look in whatever fashion we see fit to keep the story going. Granted, I worked for the soul-sucking evils of ABC, but across the board I would never recommend anyone going on them. I think the only show I could remotely recommend is Amazing Race. But then again, I am really intensely biased against them.

    @jessi.: no, its mine! mine I say!

    @adayinthelife: I really don’t care how I get edited. The million dollars would be nice though.

  14. February 2, 2008 at 10:43 pm

    A million dollars is always nice. Regardless, I think that would be the first time in history I would watch a reality show. I just realized I probably came off way more "OMGdon’tdothisitistehsuck!" than I had intended. I think I’m just a bitter ole biddy when it comes to those shows, heh heh, so never mind me.

  15. February 3, 2008 at 12:30 pm

    @adayinthelife: nah, it’s fine. I just have different views on media than you do. I see reality shows as an art. An exercise in storytelling, just like anything else. People just get too wrapped up in them being "real"

  16. February 3, 2008 at 3:11 pm

    I think you may have something there. The people on the show, I never had problems with really, just people. The people I worked with on the other hand. I like the idea of it being an exercise in storytelling. Gives me a new perspective. Thank you. 🙂
