Day 490 of 365 More.

It’s not quite a partridge and a pear tree, but today is the first day of the 12 days of Christmas. Steph and I started the celebration by going out and doing some shopping after work, and then coming home and putting together our tiny little Christmas tree. Seeing as how its a pretty meager tree, its not very hard to put up, but then when we went to plug the lights in, we couldn’t find my extension cord I use for it. This is a problem as the lights built in plug only extends about 12 inches from the tree. I guess I can buy another one tomorrow or something.

Or maybe Charlie Brown and the gang will just come and spruce it up for me. That’d be nice.

I have a lot of surplus extension cords that I’d be happy to donate to your cause.

What the hell? How can a little bitty tree like that perplex the two of you? 😀 Get a BIGGER Tree! It’ll come with a longer cord – heeheehee!

Just to make you feel better about your tiny version of a real tree… George and I had one about half that size at his place… it was designed to stick into the ground, but we stuck it into an upside-down styrofoam cooler. Nothing says "classy christmas" quite like that! Your tree is positively impressive by comparison.

tho’ ours did have a cord that reached to an outlet. 😉

I gotta agree with your mom on that one.

@lrayholly: i happen to like the tree on the floor right in front of the fireplace.

@mickeysacks: yeah, I bought this one last year so that we’d always have some kind of tree, even when i didn’t feel like going out and getting a real one.

@midsize le pépère: oh, my mom is full of it. There was a year she didn’t even want to get a tree, but my little brothers made her, and she ended up getting one about the same size as this one. (Though as she pointed out… kinda… she did put it on a table). Now watch her deny it. 🙂

@ mav: Please do. I don’t know why I have so many extension cords. I don’t have enough appliances for them all. And I think the little tree is cute.

@chrismaverick: Oh I’m definitely not going to deny almost not buying a tree – that definitely happened. However, your "writer’s viewpoint" seems to be overriding what actually transpired! This was the Christmas after moving to Las Vegas. You were in college & your brother’s were in high school – well past the age where I had to worry about Santa disappointing you. I was struggling in a city who’s cost of living was vastly different from where I came! Your youngest brother did convince me to buy a tree, I initially was going to buy a 4 footer (we were in an apartment), but instead bought a 6 foot tree! I didn’t get a 4 footer until years later when there was no one at home except Marcus and I (and he was darned near 30 years old)! And yes I DID put it on a table!

So I’ll thank you to get your facts straight! And put the damned tree on a table 😀

@marmal8: cool. If you really don’t need them I’ll try to stop by some time soon.

@lrayholly: yeah yeah yeah… details… the point is you didn’t even WANT a tree one year. That’s all I’m sayin’, It’s you uppity rich folk with big trees always trying to keep us poor brother’s with meager trees down. You need to watch the Charlie Brown Christmas special and see what its all about. 😛
