Day 361 of 365 days.

I am just beat. I don’t even have the energy to be my regular funny self. Went to sleep at 1 in the morning and got up at 2 in order to go back out to West Virginia and shoot in the waterfall again with Amaya. I also too Rachael and Laurie with me. Got some great shots of all three girls which I’m sure will make it to these pages as soon as I get some free time (I’m currently 2 shoots behind in edits, and will probably be down more by the end of the week).

Jack Scoresby is also visiting this week, during his international flickr tour. Look for him to appear in a shot or two.

I drove about 8 hours today. I’m exhausted. This shot was taken during todays shoot as I was testing golden hour lighting while the girls were getting ready. It’s all I have energy for at this point.

Sounds like a damn busy day. But shooting pictures of lovely models in a waterfall doesn’t sound too bad. Get some rest!

Down to just 4 more days. damn

hey! I left a comment right after Mikey and it’s disappeared!

Anyway, I said something about the crystal clear water being awfully pretty. Dang, that’s weird 🙁

@lrayholly: oh, it was gorgeous… you’ll be able to see it better in some of the shots of the girls when I get them done.

And yeah, flickr does weird stuff like that every once in a while.

*hug* I sympathise with the sleepy man. And I’m really curious to see what you and Jack come up with together… and then send him to Seattle so I can try to be as cool as you.

i love west virginia…wish i got there more often.

i like that the focus is more on the water than you…makes it interesting in a weird way.

and i hope that you got some rest by now…and can’t wait to see your pics!

    Golden hour light?

  12. August 8, 2007 at 6:05 pm

@pi c’s: Thanks. I really just needed someone with skin in the shot to compare to the greenery for light. My skin is obviously lighter than any of the girls, but it was a good set-up test.

@PhotoKat: thank you. The ones to come are MUCH MUCH prettier with the hot pretty girls instead of me.

@MegaBee: yep. Or are you asking what it is?

  13. August 10, 2007 at 5:46 am

    I’m asking what it is.

  14. August 10, 2007 at 9:43 am

@MegaBee: oh, ok…. So starting precisely at sunrise and going for approximately one hour, the light from the sun is at a perfect angle coming through the sky and the exact right warmth to create the most perfect natural lighting for human skin you ever get. It also happens (though slightly less good, IMO) during the hour before sunset. It’s what I try to replicate with my studio lights usually. But there’s no substitute for a nice 6am shoot.
