Day 54 of 365 days.

It’s Wednesday and that makes it new comic book day. Phantom of the Attic is my local comic book shot and I have been shopping there for 14 years. There’s not much of a story here, but since going to the store once a week is such a big part of my life, I had to make sure that it was represented at least once in this project.

Great to know someone else shares a love of comics! People laugh at my collection. I used to do visit the comic book and cd store every friday in Melbourne but kinda not there at the moment. I wrote a 4 part comic series once for a local print once.

ooh you comic freak! i don’t laugh at anyone’s "collections" it’s great that you appreciate something so much….personally, though, i just don’t get comics too much….but that’s just me 😀 hoep it was a good day!

some of your pictures look soooo like out of a movie or just like out of (real) life… i really like that. thanks again for sharing. i wish my life was so interesting that i could add some more of such pics. actually there’s not much more than work, and my eyes seem to only see keyboards, mice and screens… anyway. cool "snapshot"!

@mild_seven_lights: Yep, been a big comic fan since I was 7. Worked in a shop for a while as a teen. Did some mini comics and such too.

@Jen: I guess they aren’t for everyone. But if you’re going to be my friend I’m going to have to demand that you read the Watchmen. It was a 12 issue series that came out way back in 1985. You can probably get a bound tradepaperback at your local bookstore. It really is a great book. I made Steph read Watchmen as a condition of dating me. I even made my mom read the Watchmen.

@assbach: Thanx. I’m trying. One of the things I’m working on is trying to take more "real life" candids. Its hard, being forced to think about things like that. I’m much more comfortable with photographing a pretty girl modeling under controlled conditions.

alright…if i ever get to meet you in person, you can hand me YOUR copy of The Watchmen and I’ll read it (I hope it’s not too long!)…but I’m not saying that I’ll enjoy it. Truth be told I hate being told what to read…not that I hate that you’re telling me….but you know what I mean (I hope).
Anyway, your comment on a recent discussion brought me back to this photo…even though I knew I had already commented on it when you posted it. I think that you’ll watch that 60 views dramatically increase in the next few days because you posted it to the discussion thread…whether or not you get the feedback you’re looking for will remain to be seen.
My thoughts on this photograph, since my original comments included nothing about the photo…

i’d like to see more light/contrast on your face…not a lot just a bit on YOUR right side.
i’d like to see the actual comic book names in better focus since that was the photo was about (i think)…and you could even be a bit out of focus since your intention is to show something about your life and not necessarily you….but you must be in it of course 😀
other than that…i think that the quality of this photo is great and gives us a peek into your weekly routine 🙂

@Jen: Forgetting comics, its probably one of the best books I’ve ever read period. Its probably readable in a couple hours if you wanted to rush. But i usually read it slower because i like to enjoy it.

I dunno about views increasing. I’m at 66 now.

    Thanx for the feedback.

You know, I forgot to tell you I was copycatting you on this. My mistake. I’ll mention you in another photo talking about 365days to make up for it.
